My experience using Facebook Ads the first time (November 2016)

Hello guys, I just want to share my experience in creating and using Facebook ads the first time and I can say that it’s a little tricky and exciting at the same time.

Page Likes

The first ad that I created was for Page Likes where I promoted a fanpage about an international product about hair loss which I’d like to call this an experiment. The page contain posts about hair and all about our head. I targeted people who has interest in hair loss, hair products, shampoo, etc., from the specific states in United States.

In creating the ad, it was not accepted the first time since Facebook does not allow body parts with damages (vanishing hair) to be featured in the ad so I created a new image with a hair brush photo which is a lot simpler and there it was accepted. Unfortunately, after running for 2 days reaching 187 people, I only got 3 likes (P92.39/like) and spent a total of P277.16.

This result is frustrating but I know there’s something that caused this which I am figuring out until now. Later I found out from Facebook notification that it was because of the image which has too much text in it. I am not closing my door on this and I’ll come back promoting again the page after studying the loopholes for this.

Post Engagements

The next ad I created was about Post Engagements which was actually a boosted post after being suggested by Facebook on my page’s timeline. In this ad, I boosted my existing post with dramatic photo of Filipinos working hard for living and commuting every day in buses, trains, MRT/LRT. In the text description, I quoted an emotional line about changing lives thru certain opportunities with a link to a video of my affiliate product.

I ran this for 3 days targeting people with interests in jobs, travel, time freedom, etc. and I reached 888 people this time. I got 81 (P1.85/ppe) post engagements and spent P150 as standard amount suggested by Facebook. By the way, the 81 post engagements is a combination of both post and page likes. I’m happy with this result since it has reached people not only for awareness but also for increasing page likes which was actually my first intention.

What I learned for creating this ad is that the creativity of the photo used and some touching lines in post description can cause nice results which actually attract people to click on it and be curious on what it is about. Post boosting is actually a low cost yet effective way to promote your page or business offers and you must try it as early as now.

Website Clicks

The third ad that I created was for website clicks with the purpose to promote my affiliate link with sales funnel in it for lead generation. I created a photo grabbed from a free stock photo site and include a two-line catchy text. This time I reached 26, 264 Facebook users and got 958 (P0.52) link clicks which is very low for this type of ad. So far the results I got from this campaign is not bad since I also got email signups in my sales funnel so I can still send follow ups to them from time to time. I’m planning to run another ad similar to this but with different image to test out if what’s really working.

I’m still in the experimentation phase but I slowly get results so I will go further and figure out what’s working and how I can optimize it to get high results for my business.

So parang ganyan lang. Kailangan mo lang gawin ay ilista mo ang mga posibleng titles ng articles na balak mong ipost sa blog mo at mag-research ka ng information tungkol dun. Pwede kang mag-copy paste kaya lang magiging generic masyado ang post mo so dapat ang isulat mo ay naayon kung paano ka magsalita para malaman ng prospect mo na totoong tao ka.

Dapat din consistent ka sa pag-post ng related article sa product mo para ma-detect ng Google na seryoso ka sa ginagawa mo at maaring maging searchable ang blog content mo.

10 Effective Characteristics of a Great Sales Person

Can explain complexity – As a salesperson, you need to have an in-depth knowledge about the product you are selling such as what it can do to the customer, the WHAT IFs of the product, supplies, etc. to enable to market it to different kinds of people in different approach.

  1. Ability to handle customer objections – This is one of the most important characteristic that a salesperson should have since objections cannot be avoided in some cases. Example if the customer complains about the price, then a salesperson should have an extra bucket of explanations on why the price is at that range and most likely tackle on the advantage side. Of course, to avoid being bias, a salesperson needs to be honest on the advantage and disadvantage of the product you are selling.
  2. Closers and process-driven – These two are in sequence, meaning if you can sell fast using your approach, you don’t stop there. Keep innovating on what works best to get your products sold in a very minimal time and less effort. Keeping contact with past customers is also healthy for a salesperson to be able to reach them whenever new products are introduced.
  3. Team player – Of course, if you are in a team, you need to communicate with other team mates to keep in touch on what’s new and what are their struggles in selling that you can possibly help. Being in a team needs coordination and deep relationship especially if you are on the same product or same nature of products. Coach them and be coachable also. Listen to others as this might also help in your approach of selling.
  4. Don’t be pushy – This is what customers hate the most so avoid pushing them to the product unless you have a mild approach to make them change their mind quickly.
  5. Honest – As covered in #2, this is also separate factor since being honest not only to your customers but also to yourself will help you grow believing in yourself above anything else. This will also gain you trust from customers who like to know more about the product rather than regretting in the end. Avoid making promises that are not attainable to avoid trouble against your potential customers.
  6. Ask questions – This will enable you to get their attention and most likely gives you an idea as a salesperson on what is the right product for that customer’s needs.
  7. Follow up – Since not all the people you met are interested with the product on the spot, it’s best to follow up them after once in a while to keep up with the momentum before they forgot you and your product unless they are your neighbors. 🙂
  8. Shares own story – This is important especially for opportunity products, healing products or anything that have lifted you up out of misery. This will help you gain trust since customers will get to know you and what you’ve been through.
  9. Thanks giver – Sounds good but this is the most important whether the person buys the product or not. This is to at least credit the person who listened to you or watched your presentation. As a salesperson you will harvest the sweetest fruit in the end if this is done every time you market your product.

Gaya nung #1, di masyadong maliwanag kung bakit kailangan nyang sumali sa offer or business mo, so bago mo gawin yan, dapat malaman nya ang value ng ino-offer mo kung anong magagawa nito para sa kanya at dun mo makukuha ang loob ng prospects mo. Dapat iwasan natin ang paraan na tinutulak natin ang business sa ibang tao para sumali sila agad. Dapat may value muna na ipinapakita para malaman nila na eto pala ang hinahanap nila na opportunity.

Before making any video presentation for your product, you need to have the belief that your product has its potential to help your customers. 1. Intro – This is made up of three basic components: your story, greetings, and attract attention

a. Your story – This is the part where you can share your story on how you encountered the product and what are your struggles before you found this product.

Example: I am very thin before but I used this product but I gain weight and grow my muscles after deciding to use this product.

b. Greetings – This is the part where you can greet your intended viewers and customers. This will address the audience that this video presentation is for them.

Example: To those who want to build their body like John Cena, hello to you or this
product is for you.

c. Attract attention – With the term itself, it already explain the things that you need to do to catch the attention of your viewers. This is also the part where you need them to hold on to you and make them finish the video because you have something to offer at the end.

Example: You need to finish this video in order to know the basic exercises that I did to build my muscles fast.

2. Ask or address the problem – This is where you will address a related problem to your product and point out the benefits that they can get using your product.

a. Ask a question which will be specifically addressed by your product.

Example: Do you want to be fit?

b. Mention the problem that they have encountered and how did they got into it.

Example: Being thin made girls ignore you. Something like that.

c. Put salt – Mention the worst part if they will not going solve or address that problem.

Example: How do you look today will still be the same in the coming years if you will not do something about it.

3. Present solution – This is the part where you need to provide a solution to the
problems mentioned earlier.

a. This is what I got – Present the name of the product.

Example: This is StonyPacks, a product for building your body and growing your muscles.

b. This is what it will do for you – This is the main entrance of the benefits that you need to highlight for the customer to understand its uses.

Example: This product has free DVD with proven routines on how you can build your muscles fast in two weeks.

c. SWAT – Short for so what? If you mention a solution, always ask ‘what’ after every solution or you need to increment the benefits that it can give or solve the problem.

Example: If you use this, you will learn self-discipline; when you’re disciplined, you’ll never get tired to exercise every day, you’ll never get tired of waking up early, and so on…

4. Proposal – This is where you’ll ask them if they’re interested. This is also the part where you need to address what’s holding them back to refuse your offer or check it later.

a. Price juxtaposition – This is where you have to compare the price of your product to other alternatives which might cost them a lot of money if they will not buy your product.
But, you need to do this in a mild tone and still consider the customer’s decision by saying “It’s your decision…” which makes them think and realize this time.

5. Close – If all the steps above are done, then this is the part where you lead the customer to the product page or to the procedure on how to get this product, and this is called leading.

Call To Action or CTA is also important to specifically instruct them on what to do if they want to learn more or purchase the product right away. It could be instructing them to click the link, button, or email you to get the product.
